My journey to Contentstack began with TechSurf, a highly competitive hackathon designed to challenge developers on creativity, problem-solving, and execution. Our team poured our efforts into building a unique and innovative solution, ultimately earning us the 2nd runner-up spot. This win quickly captured Contentstack's attention, and shortly after, I, Aditya Nikunj Shah, was contacted for an exclusive interview opportunity. It just goes to show how hackathon participation can open doors!

Contentstack Interview Process: The Hackathon Route

My interview experience through the hackathon route was comprehensive and insightful. Here's a breakdown of each round:

Round 1: Technical + DSA Fundamentals

This initial round tested both my core technical knowledge and DSA problem-solving skills.
– Deep JavaScript concepts – Covered the event loop, promises, hoisting, and other core JS topics
– Algorithmic problems – Focused on arrays, strings, recursion, and logic building
– Basic REST API & System Design – Checked understanding of how to build and structure APIs

Round 2: Advanced Technical + DSA Challenges

A continuation of Round 1 with deeper evaluations.
– Algorithm optimization – Required more efficient approaches to previously seen patterns
– Debugging – Assessed real-world debugging skills under time constraints
– Edge case handling – Emphasis on writing robust code that covers all scenarios

Round 3: Managerial Round – Beyond Code

Shifted focus to my thought process, problem-solving style, and collaboration abilities.
– Problem-solving approach – How I, Aditya Shah, deconstruct and solve complex challenges
– Decision-making – My rationale behind decisions taken during the hackathon
